KIST and KOITA Gather Capabilities for the Growth of Innovative Companies
The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST; President: Dr. Seok-Jin Yoon) announced that it has signed a business cooperation agreement on supporting innovative companies with the Korea Industrial Technology Association (KOITA; Chairman: Mr. Ja-Kyun Koo) at its headquarters in Seoul on April 21.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will promote
innovative growth by supporting strategic technology through the analysis of
innovative companies and sharing of information about their human resources,
technology, and infrastructure. In addition, it was announced that KIST’s
accumulated research capabilities would be utilized to expand channels for
solving the technological difficulties companies face, and that efforts would
be made to bring innovation to industries, such as conducting joint education
programs.
Furthermore, as a follow-up to the signing ceremony, the
two organizations will form the “KIST-KOITA Consultative Body for Corporate
Innovation Growth”, organize and run innovation growth promotion projects for
KOITA members, and hold technical consultations and briefing sessions on
promising technologies. To maintain the project over the long term, the two
organizations agreed to hold quarterly councils requiring three to six
director-level representatives to be present.
The President of KIST, Dr. Yoon, stated, "Through this agreement with KOITA, we will spread KIST's excellent technology to various industries and continue to work together to promote the growth of industrial technology through strategic relationships with organizations such as KOITA."
