The 3rd Korean-French LIA Workshop on Photonics and Nanostructures was held at the Korea Advanced Nano Fab Center (KANC) for two days from May 19 to 20, 2008.
KIST and CNRS (France) are operating the Center for Photonics and Nanostructures (CPN) supported by the Global Research Laboratory Program (GRL) as an Associated International Laboratory (LIA). 70 participants from home and abroad including Dr. Le Si Dang of CNRS, Ms. Mariana Noel from the French Embassy in Seoul, Vice President K. C. MOON of KIST and Dr. Jung-Il LEE of KIST join the Workshop and shared their ideas for better cooperation.
Vice President MOON of KIST encouraged and requested the researchers related to CPN, which had been established in 2006, to continue their best to make CPN a model for the future cooperation between Korea and France.
On the other hand, Dr. Jung-Il LEE of KIST was awarded the prestigious Academic Palm Medal Knight for his contribution to the promotion of scientific and technological cooperation between Korea and France by the French government on May 19, 2008.
