Signing MOUs to Ensure Reliablity of Research Equipment Data and Enhance Measurement Technology
On June 21st, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Keysight Technologies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at KIST’s headquarters in Seoul to maintain research equipment and establish a professional technology cooperation partnership.
KIST is using various research equipment to conduct innovative research to solve national and social challenges and secure new growth engines. Over time, this research equipment becomes more likely to generate measurement errors, a factor which reduces the reliability of experimental data.
KIST’s Convergence Research Policy Center and Keysight Korea, a company specializing in integrated electrical measuring equipment solutions, will cooperate to solve these problems and advance measurement technologies. Through this business agreement, the two organizations will work together to regularly calibrate KIST's old research equipment and establish a systematic integrated management system, and will also promote exchanges of human and material resources to carry out joint tasks.
Regarding the business agreement, Seok-Jin Yoon, the President of KIST, stated, "This is an opportunity to confirm the necessity of regular calibration," adding, "It will be a good opportunity to increase the reliability of experimental results produced by our institution and reduce the waste of resources consumed in equipment operation."
