Korea Institute of Science and Technology (Dr. Lee Byung Gwon, President) and Chung Ang University (CAU, President Lee Yong Goo) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement December 14 (Mon.) at Seoul main campus of KIST, to implement joint projects between academic sectors including education and research and the industries, with an aim of nurturing science talents and mutual growth of industry, academia and research sectors.
The two parties also agreed to focus on nurturing science and technology talents by opening an academic and research joint program for graduates and doctoral students, covering the areas of production technology, R&D management and science & technology policy from 2016. KIST has been signing academic & research agreements with 17 universities both home and abroad, starting with Korea University in 1990 and produced as many as 2,000 competent science and technology talents.
President Lee Byung Kwon of KIST said “The agreement will offer an opportunity of extensive cooperation with CAU, to contribute to advancement of national science and technology competence and facilitate creative economy, by nurturing creative science and technology talents, equipped with theoretical knowledge and application capabilities to drive cutting-edge technology development.”
