Dr. Lim Hye-won Elected 21st Chairman of Korean Society for
Brain and Neural Science
On September 1, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) announced that Director Lim Hye-won of the Brain Science Institute was elected the 21st chairman of the Korea Society of Brain and Neural Science (KSBNS). Dr. Lim’s appointment will be ratified at the 19th KSBNS General Conference, which is slated to be held on September 29. Dr. Lim will serve a 1-year term beginning January 1, 2018.
Established in 1997, the KSBNS is Korea’s biggest brain science society, consisting of 1,300 members. The society keeps track of the latest trends in the field, supports exchanges of research results, presents new visions for the future of brain and neural science and nurtures future leaders in the field.
Dr. Lim stated that, “KSBNS will provide whatever support necessary for the successful implementation of the recently-announced national strategy for brain science development, as well as its successful hosting of the International Brain Research Organization symposium in 2019.”
