KIST President Kil-Choo Moon Visits KIST Jeonbuk (1.11)

Dr. Kil-Choo Moon, president of KIST, visited Jeonju on Tuesday, Jan. 11, for a meeting with Governor Wan-joo Kim of Jeonbuk Province, and for a progress report session at KIST Jeonbuk.
Dr. Moon first met with Governor Kim and Mr. Geo-suk Suh, president of Jeonbuk University. During the meeting, Governor Kim gave his full support to Dr. Moon in KIST Jeonbuk’s endeavor to attract excellent researchers and achieve outstanding performance. Dr. Moon expressed his appreciation for Governor Kim’s support and assured that he would promote KIST Jeonbuk to become a global research institute.
After the meeting, Dr. Moon visited KIST Jeonbuk to attend the progress report session. At the meeting, he encouraged the researchers to continue to devote themselves to their research in accordance to the long-term development plan, in spite of the current poor research conditions, and promised to provide them with his full support.
After a luncheon, Dr. Moon went to check the progress of the construction of the new KIST Jeonbuk site. He expressed his appreciation to Mr. Yeong-yup Lim, the county governor of Wanju, for his consideration for and investment in the construction. I hope KIST Jeonbuk can bring dreams to the young, talented people of the area and spread the culture of science in the region, Mr. Lim said. The county of Wanju and KIST Jeonbuk will cooperate closely to also create a new program, ‘KIST Science Class Program.’
