KIST Signs MoU with Kolmar Korea
On June 28th, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Kolmar Korea signed an MoU for the joint conducting of R&D.
The MoU stresses the importance of government-funded research institutes and corporations collaborating on joint research, then outlines the two organizations’ approach to working together to increase Korea’s research and technology commercialization capabilities by creating an exemplary model for healthcare/cosmetics cooperation in everything from initial development to licensing and commercialization.
KIST President Lee Byung Gwon expressed his hope that, by combining KIST’s bio/natural product research with Kolmar Korea’s commercialization capacities, the result would be increased quality of life for Korean citizens as a result of superior products.
Meanwhile, Kolmar Korea CEO Yoon Dong-han stated that, as a global R&D/manufacturing company, his organization has aggressively invested in beauty/healthcare, making the cooperation outlined in the MoU especially beneficial thanks to “KIST’s outstanding bio R&D capabilities.”
