KIST Prof. Lee Sang-bae is named OSA Fellow (2014.11.26)

Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST, President Lee Byung-gwon) announced that senior researcher Lee Sang-bae at the Opto-Electronic Convergence Systems Research Group of KIST was named the Fellow by the Optical Society of America (OSA), the highest honor members can receive at OSA.
OSA is the world-renowned academic society accredited in the field of optics. It was founded in 1916, and currently has more than 18,000 active members in over 80 countries. Among all members, only 0.4% are recognized as fellow each year.
Prof. Lee joined KIST in 1985, and has been an active researcher who published over 300 research papers domestically and internationally over the course of 30 years. His development of optic fiber grid and optical fiber laser, which are used in optical communication and optical sensor, received high marks in the OSA evaluation.
