Dr. Kim Soo Hyun Takes Over as President of the Korean Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society
The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) announced that, beginning on January 1, 2018, Dr. Kim Soo Hyun of KIST’s Center for Biomaterials will serve a one-year term as the 14th president of the Korean Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Society (KTERMS). He was initially appointed to the position during a KTERMS general meeting back in June 2017.
KTERMS was founded in 1998 and currently has 1,000 members, making it the largest Korean association related to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Its goal is to help lead the 4th Industrial Revolution through a convergence of engineering and medical studies. Furthermore, it works with world-class scientists to implement new directions for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, and it helps foster the next generation of researchers in these fields.
Dr. Kim previously headed up KIST’s Center for Biomaterials as well as the Cardiovascular & Neural Bioorgans Research Center funded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. He holds professorships at both KU-KIST Graduate School and the University of Science and Technology.
