KIST Signs MoU with TUBITAK
- Fostering personnel exchanges and active R&D cooperation between Korea and Turkey
On October 17, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) entered into a MoU to strengthen their cooperative ties with each other. In doing so, KIST President Lee Byung Gwon and TUBITAK President A. Arif ERGIN agreed to further cement their partnership through personnel exchanges and active R&D cooperation.
TUBITAK is Turkey’s premiere S&T research and policy-making association, operating around 20 research institutes in addition to various research grant programs. The MoU was signed during TUBITAK’s visit to Korea, in an attempt to gain know-how on technology transfers and to strengthen collaboration with Korean research institutes.
Dr. Lee emphasized his hope that the MoU would “vitalize cooperation between our two organizations, beginning with KIST School’s training of outstanding Turkish students as a way of engendering S&T cooperation between Korea and Turkey.”
