Korea National University of Arts Holds 15th Hongneung Forum
The 15th Hongneung Forum was held on December 16 at the Korea National University of Arts’ Art Theater, under the theme of "Growth and Expansion of Hongneung through the Convergence of Education, Technology, and Art."
The Hongneung Forum serves as an academic and research forum for 18 universities, research institutes, and other promotional/supporting institutions located around Hongneung, through which they seek out agendas and strategies for regional and national development and broaden cooperation with local governments and companies.

In a video message, Seoul Mayor Se-Hoon Oh said, "Seoul has been creating a biomedical cluster in Hongneung, and in particular, it is contributing to the establishment of an innovation network by designating a special research and development zone in Hongneung."
This year’s Hongneung Forum featured discussion on the future direction of cooperation between universities, research institutes, and public institutions to expand understanding between fields and promote synergy in convergence by looking at examples of the integration of digital technology, education, and culture and arts contents.
Jie-Eun Hwang, an Architecture Professor at Seoul National University, suggested a development direction that focuses on how art education can utilize digital technology education to enhance creativity.
In addition, Seung-Moo Lee, a Filmmaking Professor at the Korea National University of Arts, introduced attempts to combine advanced digital technology with culture and art and presented ways to collaborate on the creation of convergent content.
In the panel discussion, headed by Jeong-Bon Kim, Secretary-General of the Soorim Cultural Foundation, experts participated in a heated hour-long discussion on how to expand and grow Hongneung through convergence and cooperation between fields.

Kil-Choo Moon, Chairman of the Hongneung Forum, said, "The number of members of the Forum, which started at 10, has already increased to 18, and I hope that today's event will help improve communication and understanding between different fields and expand the network for convergence and cooperation."
