Director Joo Oh-shim at the KIST Future Talent Division said, “Starting with Korea University in 2012, KIST has been operating the Academy-Research joint professor program for convergence research to resolve social issues and nurturing of talents in the natural sciences and engineering field. This conference paved the way for vitalization of pragmatic convergence research and nurturing of future talents in the creative and convergence field, by identifying the research cooperation areas which can generate synergy effect among universities and between universities and KIST.”
Academy-Research professor program is designed to vitalize joint research projects and education by utilizing scholars and researchers at national research institutes and universities under the ‘Promotion of Industrial Education and Industry-Academic Cooperation Act.’ Professors or researchers selected for the program belong to the both organizations (a research institute and a university) and pursue the convergence research and future talent nurturing as a full-time researcher.
