KIST Signs Comprehensive Agreement to Promote Cooperation with Kookmin University (2015.10.26)

On October 26, KIST (President Lee Byung Gwon) and Kookmin University (President Yu Ji-soo) entered into an agreement of comprehensive cooperation at the head office of KIST in Seoul, for the purpose of promoting collaboration in education and research, and joint projects among industry, university and research institute. They also agreed to focus on the cultivation of creative talents who will lead the future science and technology of Korea, through the joint establishment and operation of joint research courses at mechanical engineering department and new materials engineering department. Thus far,
KIST entered into agreements of cooperation with 16 universities in Korea, starting from Korea University in 1990, and produced over 2,000 scientists and researchers through the collaboration programs.
President Lee Byung Gwon said “Under the agreement of cooperation, KIST will join hands with Kookmin University in order to cultivate creative talents in the field of science and technology who have both knowledge and application skills to lead the development of state-of-the-art technologies. That way, we would like to contribute to the advancement of Korea’s science and technology and the promotion of the creative economy.”
