The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Dana?Farber Cancer Institute (President/CEO Edward J. Benz, Jr.), a major affiliation of Harvard Medical School, signed an MOU that will allow joint research in cancer biology at 10 a.m., July 3rd (Wednesday) at KIST campus.
The goal of this agreement is to create a synergistic effect by mutually cooperating in the area of cancer biology. In accordance with this agreement, subsequent measures will follow such as joint cancer research projects and the establishment of a lab at Dana?Farber Cancer Institute operated by KIST.
In addition, KIST and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will continuously build a close relationship in various research areas through exchange of information and manpower.
Established in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is one of the 40 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute and aims to distribute innovative cancer treatments as well as outcomes from scientific research in cancer to the world. The institute provides cancer treatments and conduct clinical trials based on its cancer research. The Institute employs about 580 researchers who concentrate on cancer research including oncology, molecular imaging, and immunology.
